Happy Birthday, Chris! [Jun. 13th, 2006|11:29 am]

It's [info]themdolphins' birthday! I drew her a plastic dinosaur wondering about her new kitty kitty. And if her opinions on plastic dinosaurs are slim, she can pretend it is one of Wash's. I have back-up plans like that.

As she gets a kitty, the rest of you get a Jaguar. )

Four sketch-a-doos. [Jun. 9th, 2006|04:28 pm]

This sketch update consists of old WIPs that I shall never finish. First we have the Death of Hamlet, who is being lovingly cradled by Dear Old Horatio. I drew it majorly huge, the image you see is all of the scanned portion. There's nothing much else to the picture so you aren't missing a ton.

Three more goobers for ya )

Three rough thangs [Apr. 9th, 2006|06:34 pm]

A weird Batman I drew at the last Anime Detour's Art Jam. Luckily no one beat me for drawing a superhero at an anime convention.

Two more fellows under way )

Anime Detour 2006 [Mar. 27th, 2006|11:42 am]
Anime Detour 2006 was the first convention where I had an art table. I shared it with [info]diet_rae and we had a rockin' time. I did twelve commissions and earned almost two hundred dollars. It was a goddamn fucking success.

I tried to take a picture of just about every commission I did:

Holy Cliche' Superhero Poses, Batman! [Feb. 12th, 2006|07:36 pm]

Animal Man! He flies with all the grace of a small sparrow!

I don't draw for fun anymore. All my drawing urges are being sapped up by observational assignments in class. But after (finally) buying the first two Animal Man books, I thought a little Buddy Baker lovin' may help me get back in the groove. He's also inked exclusively in brush. Which is a fact I'm proud of.

Batgirls up the hizzle. [Jan. 16th, 2006|05:29 pm]
So yeah, I did a Batgirl, too. But then the amount of entries reached approx. five gajillion and I decided mine was too lame to turn in.

Remember my pulp art project? I'm done! Or less, nearing it. I'm making the painting into a full-fledge mock-magazine, so now all that needs to happen is the xeroxing. ...sniff sniff... I'm so proud of my baby...

Ink illustrations for the inside. )

In addition to Megan's amazing story, the magazine also has my lame Art History essay in the back. Which is why there will only be a select few copies made.

Lancelot, man, what a great guy.

I've been listening to the Spamalot soundtrack a lot lately when I work at my desk. Sadly to my work ethic, the song "His Name is Lancelot" distracts me every time with it's jaunty beat. So I thought I'd share a little Lance Love with you guys. He's on my sweet colored paper and his armor is my sweet metallic gold ink. Which I don't know why I bought.

Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes. [Nov. 5th, 2005|02:26 pm]
But how I measure a year has nothing to do with this post.

Watercolor doodle of Kiefer Sutherland from Cowboy Up, yet another contemporary cowboy movie that no one's heard of that I just happen to own.

Finding comfort in your secretary's thigh )
A little noir. Scene taken from The Maltese Falcon written by Hammett, just about the first novel depicting the rough and tough private eye of the twenties.

Character Sketches )

I've been sketching a touch more these days, maybe I'll deliver more to you guys in this journal. Exciting!

A little satyr, doing a little satyr dance! ((If anyone is offended by his furry yiff-alicious nudity, don't hesitate to tell and I'll put his naked fuzzy little body behind the cut.))

Hey there, g'morning b-b's.

If I drew smaller, more compact things, then I wouldn't have to put my art behind a cut. )

Christening a new sketchbook by offing the old book's pics here.

I went to a "How to Draw Manga" panel at Anime Expo, here's the head I drew during it. The teacher guy's style was very manga and I was following what he was saying, so that's why his hair is a touch nuts...
Three more... not 100% worksafe, but nothing bad. )
